Q. In general, for the fire safety and security Industry, the lack of advancement regarding standardisation and certification have been rather disappointing. What are your views on the topic?
That's correct. However, the current government has started to put legislation in place and standardize and upgrade norms and laws to improve Fire & Safety Standards as well as improve the labor laws for our workers in the country.

Q. How important are design choices and selection of materials in relation to Safety Equipment?
Its very important. At UNICARE we firmly believe in modern futuristic design that is also ergonomic, simple and safe. Selection of the right material is paramount to developing good products and going forward we encourage the Industry to use more environmentally friendly materials.

Q. What kind of efficiency can you promise the market with your system and equipment?
We always have and always will stand for quality in the Fire & Safety Industry. Our products and solutions don't come cheap. Whether product is manufactured by UNICARE or Distributed we ensure the best levels of efficiency with the latest standards and approvals.

Q. What are the biggest challenges in the growth of Industry in India?Do you see these as being unique to India or as common challenges to the global community?
The Biggest challenges being faced in our Industry is implementation of rules & regulations to Indian and International Standards. All companies, government or private, must ensure that their assets and people are kept safe at any cost. Value for human life in India must be given much more focus which will in-turn set the momentum for growth in our Industry. After all, it is our beloved work force that enables an Industry like ours move forward.

Q. How are technological changes, innovation and data impacting the industry when it comes to safety?
The future of PPE is SMART PPE. IOT - the INTERNET OF THINGS is a reality. In the future, we see machines and PPE working in conjunction with each other. In other words, based on the right PPE being worn, will a machine be functional for that particular worker. A chip in the machine and the PPE will enable this functionality.
