Women’s Day Celebration 2020
I have been in the field of EHS since over 15 years, and it has been a thrilling and challenging experience altogether. Being a medical doctor, I had a unique opportunity to utilize medical knowledge, to train and guide personnel, research on aspects like ergonomics, spinal and head trauma and various occupational diseases etc. I'm determined to bridge the gap between the Environment and the Safety aspects, and bring about a knowledge wave in industrial health, by saving lives, as I did in my clinical field.
Industrial safety involves diversified subjects like working at height and rescue, confined spaces, working with hazardous chemicals etc. Such masculine operations are usually associated with risk, adventure, physical strength and excelling oneself. For most people, these features seem to be related almost exclusively to men. Nevertheless, I was the only woman on the site often amongst men delivering training on the most rigorous rescues medically and technically at 120 metres height. Despite this fact, very few women than men still exist in this EHS world, however, i must say, "IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING" goes the tagline of NIKE shoes brand, hence, I strongly convey that all women must step in with strength, will power and positivity and prove their inner capacities and win over the long stereotyped label of the ‘men's world’.
