Ortus Automation has established itself as a trusted brand in biometric security and access control solutions. What guiding philosophy or core values have been most instrumental in shaping the company’s growth, innovation, and success in this competitive industry?
At Ortus Automation, our journey has always been guided by three core values Solution Differentiation, Customer-Centricity, and Integrity. These principles have shaped not just our growth but also the culture we continue to build every day.
From the beginning, we believed that technology should do more than solve problems it should simplify life for our customers. That belief pushed us to avoid the traditional “product-selling” approach and instead adopt solution-oriented mindset.
Equally important is our customer-centric approach. We invest time in understanding what customers truly need not just what they ask for and this has helped us design systems that are not only technically strong but also practical, scalable, and easy to operate
And above all, the foundation on which Ortus stands is Integrity which is the first and most essential quality. Whether dealing with partners, integrators or end clients, we follow ethical practices, transparent communication, and fair business conduct. This has allowed us to build relationships that outlast transactions.
In a market where many players operate as distributors of security and automation products, what differentiates Ortus Automation from its competitors in terms of product innovation, support infrastructure, and long-term value creation for customers?
At Ortus Automation, we have never operated as a conventional distributor. We position ourselves as a Value-Added Distributor, and this philosophy defines the way we engage, deliver, and support every solution across our portfolio.
What sets us apart is our strong technical backbone, built around three pillars:
Independent, Skilled Support Team
Our support and service teams are fully trained in-house and are not dependent on OEMs for issue resolution. This allows us to deliver faster response and consistent service quality irrespective of brand dependencies.
Dedicated Pre-Sales Expertise
We work closely with partners and end customers to understand the site environment, use case, and risks. Our pre-sales engineers prepare the right architecture and ensure that the chosen solution is technically sound and future-ready.
BOQ Optimisation & Consultative Approach
Instead of pushing products, we optimise BOQs to ensure customers get the most suitable and cost-effective configuration. This often reduces unnecessary hardware, saves budget, and improves system performance
Dedicated Online Support Ecosystem
We provide structured, responsive online support to help customers with configuration, troubleshooting, software guidance, and technical queries. This helps us to minimise downtime and ensure smooth system operations.
We deliver solutions, optimisation, and long-term trust. This is the value customers expect from Ortus Automation a distributor who acts as a strategic partner, not just a supplier.
Ortus has been associated with global technology brands and solution partners. How important are such collaborations in expanding your product range and strengthening your capability to deliver end-to-end solutions to customers?
One of our most strategic and defining partnerships is with ViRDI, the global leader in biometric access control from South Korea. As the exclusive partner for ViRDI in India, Ortus Automation is able to offer their internationally acclaimed biometric and access hardware enhanced with our own software integration, localisation, and solution engineering.
We also have a strong collaboration with Assa Abloy for their premium-grade locks which complement our electronic ecosystem perfectly. We have recently integrated Assa Abloy’s advanced Face Readers (ControliD) a robust and enterprise-grade facial recognition solution that strengthens our touchless access portfolio.
Beyond global brands, we are also collaborating with solution providers for integrated parking management solution.
We have also tied up with local software partners across multiple domains such as access control, visitor management, contract labour management, HRMS, and other allied products.
These collaborations strengthen our ability to deliver end-to-end, interconnected solutions that go well beyond standalone devices.
Biometric data protection and privacy have become crucial in access control systems. How does Ortus ensure responsible data handling, compliance with global standards, and secure software architecture to safeguard customer trust?
To ensure robust security and long-term reliability, all our systems are complied with VAPT, GDPR, BIS and WPC Certification apart from regular certificates like CE, FCC and ROHS.
Our platforms are built on a multi-layered security architecture and every biometric template and user credential is protected using 256-bit AES encryption and TLS 1.2 ensuring that no identifiable personal data is ever stored or transmitted in raw form.
Our devices also incorporate advanced anti-spoofing algorithms and patented live/fake finger detection, delivering a high level of protection even against sophisticated biometric threats.
How is Ortus Automation evolving its product range and software capabilities to stay aligned with modern security requirements? Further, what upcoming innovations or focus areas can customers and industry partners expect from Ortus as part of its long-term roadmap?
At Ortus Automation, we are majorly focused on the solutions that are practical, field-tested, and designed for India’s diverse and demanding environments. Our OEMs/Principals keep upgrading their products with latest technology, AI driven algorithm/software for better user experience.
On the software side, we jointly work with software partners for enhancing the current platforms to offer an overall more intuitive user interface using AI.
Looking ahead, our roadmap is cantered on strengthening touchless and high-precision biometric solutions like IRIS recognition.
And just as we helped ViRDI grow in India, we remain open to partnering with other international technology companies seeking an experienced, trustworthy, domain-strong partner with a large and mature distribution network. India’s security market is evolving rapidly, and we are well-positioned to help global brands establish a solid presence here.
